    Duyu Photography does photography services in outdoor and lifestyle portraits, birthdays, celebrations, events and super closeup shots for projects | products. Our Art Shop sells both print collections and licensed images for merchandising | commercial use.
  • Why choose Duyu Photography to do your photoshoots?
    We have backgrounds in Art, Operations and Travel and our knowledge is vast. From an Art background we have formal studies in drawing and creativity, through to experience as senior management in operations with many years of cultural exposure in the travel industry. We are photographers with a solid background to running an efficient and creative business servicing not just portraits and lifestyle but also super closeup macro shoots.
  • What equipment do we use?
    Professional Sony mirrorless cameras - suitable for action capturing and for high resolution printing capability and cropping. We always use two camera bodies on every photoshoot to accomodate for any type of moment suitable for that beautiful capture. For hand drawings just a pencil, paper and a crazy idea. :)
  • Do we provide videography services?
    We have recently joined in partnership with a videographer. Packages will be displayed on the website.
  • Do we have a studio?
    We have this planned in the future so stay tuned.
  • What style of portraits and photoshoots do we do?
    We focus on the natural look and this is so that the photo's appeal can last through many changes in trends and styles. When we refer to natural looks it basically means no excessive over saturation and very little photoshopping.
  • What other photography work do we do?
    In actual fact we photoshoot not only people but pets, landscape, wildlife and any objects we can get our hands on. Yes thats what we love doing, capturing anything that is of interest. We also capture images for clients who wish to purchase licences for commercial/merchandise use.

  • I have paid for a product and my order is wrong. What do I do?
    Digital products: Please contact us immediately so we can arrange options for you. Physical Products: Contact us immediately to see if we can get the supplier to hold from printing.
  • Is Afterpay available for our photography service?
    Yes but only for the full balance which will be indicated in the quote invoice after we assess your photoshoot requirements. If you choose to pay deposit first and final balance after then Afterpay will not be available as a payment option.
  • What is Afterpay?
    Afterpay allows you to purchase from Duyu Photography online store and pay later in 4 easy interest-free instalments.
  • How does Afterpay work?
    To pay with Afterpay: Add your items to the cart Select Afterpay as the payment option at the checkout Signup or use your existing Afterpay account Once approved, Duyu Photography will despatch your order.
  • Is there any interest on the amount paid?
    No, there is no interest payable by you
  • Is there an order limit?
    Yes, the maximum purchase amount using Afterpay on Duyu Photography is $1500.

  • How often is repayment?
    Afterpay offers your order to be paid in 4 instalments with repayment automatically occuring every 2 weeks.

  • How do returns work with Afterpay?
    Merchants will be able to initiate all eligible refunds on your behalf. Once completed, your refund will be applied to your order.
  • Does Afterpay charge interest?
    There is no interest payable by you if you place an order using Afterpay.
  • Can I place an Afterpay order with you over the phone?
    Afterpay is available as an online payment method and requires login credentials for authorisation. Our team members or merchants are unable to place an order on your behalf.

  • What do I need to bring to photoshoot day?
    This depends on your requirement. Wear your outfit for the photoshoot if you wish or pack it away for changing on the photoshoot site. Always have a spare set of clothes too and a makeup kit if you require. Any accessories etc that you wanted to be in the photoshoot then by all means bring it along. Best to bring extra items in case you do need. If you also want to bring along some of your favourite songs for the shoot in a usb or your own portable you're welcome to. We just want to make sure you're comfortable and relaxed.
  • What kind of poses should I do?
    We ask that you do a mix of poses always. We will direct you to pose and also allow you to be free to pose how you feel comfortable too. Dont always keep your eyes away from the camera as sometimes it can look overdone or empty and it's suggested that you mostly maintain eye contact and at level with the camera. In general if the eyes are looking away from the camera we recommend that you need to create a story with why you are looking away. So for example you may be looking towards an indirect or blurred subject in the background that could form as part of your story. It's handy to remind yourself that each pose should be carefully thought out and ask yourself are you able to sway the audience to be interested in why and where you are looking at. We suggest to browse through some movie posters to get a feel of how to create that story behind the look. It's advisable to smile during the pose if it fits the story. A mediocre location shoot and surroundings can really shine when the subject is smiling. Smiling creates a story for the audience. It makes it easy for the audience to be involved and feel as if they are there in front of you. A grumpy look often sways an awesome location to being a bad location for no apparent reason other than that the subject was not smiling. One thing to keep an eye on also is where are your hands while you're posing. They need to not obstruct the features of the face especially the jawline. Some models make the mistake of covering too much of their jawline and essentially removing the essence of the subject. The jawline needs to be visible to the camera and the hand on the side in a behind the jawline positon The same can be said of legs. The legs are the foundations of the subject so its critical they are at the right posture and angle. They need to look balanced and if one leg is bent does it look awkward or is it rightfully set.
  • When do I expect to get my refund?
    Depending on your bank / credit card / paypal facilities. Once we action the refund from our end, your bank then finalises on their end and we estimate it usually takes 2-3 business days dependent on the bank.
  • What situations allow refunds?
    For photoshoots: Over 24 hours notice to cancel, you will receive the total amount paid minus the deposit. Under 24 hours notice to cancel, it is fully nonrefundable. Family emergencies / work emergencies, we can assess for near or full refund. All digital products are nonrefundable once paid and downloaded. For all physical products, this depends on the manufacturers' conditions if they can be refunded or not. Generally this is permitted only for faulty items or delivery did not reach within 40 days.
  • I made a mistake with an order. Any way to fix this?
    Please notify us immediately once you have paid in full. We will contact our supplier to hold the order and await for our instructions before we speak to you first.
